supports
the California Charter School Community largely through Networking, Advocacy,
and Public Relations and provides valuable Services to it's members.
Networking
CANEC increases networking opportunities within
the charter school community. Annual Charter School Conference - This
conference is an excellent opportunity for the California Charter School
Community to network and learn from each other. Regional Networks CANEC
provides opportunities for its members to network and share information
with others in their geographic areas through organized regional networking.
Advocacy
CANEC is a powerful, persuasive advocate in the
California legislature and other policy arenas. Charter schools are beginning
to carve out a permanent place in public education in California and throughout
the nation. However, even as charter schools are becoming a recognized
part of public education they continue to remain under attack. CANEC,
through it's Advocacy Program, is carrying out positive, proactive advocacy
activities at the grassroots, state, and national levels in order to retain
the integrity of the charter school movement.
Public
Relations
CANEC increases positive public awareness of California
charter schools. Telling the charter school success story to the pubic
is increasingly important to the future of charter schools both in California
and nationwide. Having established itself as the primary clearinghouse
for networking and information on charter schools, CANEC is often asked
from the press to comment on charter school activities. In addition, CANEC
is developing a positive and proactive public relations campaign on behalf
of charter schools in California.
Member
Services and Support
CANEC provides a variety of services and support
to its members in the charter school community. CANEC's services are intended
to support organizations and individuals in the pursuit of creating the
best schools for the children of this state and continuing to increase
student achievement and learning opportunities. Please see the reverse
