CANEC has partnered with Authur J. Gallagher & Co. to offer CANEC members a comprehensive, competitively priced school liability insurance program. Coverages include, but are not limited to: Property (Building/Contents/Builders Risk), General Liability, Worker's Comp./Employers Liability, Educators/School Board Legal Liability. Job Posting Service CANEC member charter schools can post job openings at their schools for free on www.canec.org.
   

Employee Relocation Service


Through Prudential California Realty, CANEC member charter schools can have access to a complete relocation package (including area information, rental information, mortage services, and more) for new employees and their families relocating to a new location. Topical Information Mailings

 

CANEC often sends members mailings on pressing or important issues affecting charter schools. Recent mailings have included an Audit Guide and a legal opinion on Conflict of Interest issues.
   

CANEC Student Scholarship Opportunities

 

Graduating seniors from CANEC member high schools can apply for scholarships in the amount of $1000. Scholarships are presented at the Annual California Conference on Charter Schools every spring. Contact CANEC at 650-654-6003 or gocanec@aol.com for more information.
   

Innovation Award Contest

 


CANEC member charter schools can compete for CANEC's Innovation Awards presented to winning charter schools at the Annual Conference on Charter Schools every spring. Award categories include: Assessment, Time/Resource Management, Design/Governance, Instruction/Curriculum, Marketing/Community Relations. CANECTIONS Newsletter CANECTIONS is a quarterly newsletter containing information on legislation, important charter school news, calendar of events, and charter school success stories.
   
CharterClips Mailed out to our members quarterely, CharterClips contain newspaper clippings from around the state that concern charter schools and the charter school movement in California.
   
Listserv Announcement System CANEC members are updated instantly on events and important news in the charter school community through CANEC's Listserv Announcement System.
   
California Charter School Networking Directory and "Yellow Pages" CANEC compiles and distributes a directory of all the California Charter Schools including a short profile of each school. This directory also contains a "yellow pages" with resources to businesses and organizations serving California charter schools.
   
CANEC's Advocacy Program CANEC's Advocacy Program serves CANEC members by protecting the integrity of the charter school movement in California.
   
CANEC's Public Awareness Program CANEC's Public Awareness Program serves CANEC members by developing a positive and proactive campaign on behalf of charter schools in California.
   
Annual California Conference on Charter Schools What has come to be known as the "CANEC Conference" it is the nation's oldest and largest statewide conference. Members of the state and national charter school community come together to share ideas, consider future development plans, receive technical assistance and attain practical advice from others involved in the charter schools movement.
   
Regional Networks CANEC members can take advantage of networking on the local level through CANEC's Regional Networks. Members can participate in meetings and online discussions with others in their community. Events are organized by a CANEC Region Coordinator located in each region.
