The event is free. The student summit is designed by and for California charter high school students, and serves as a venue for charter high school students from around the state to learn about a variety of charter school issues, share their experiences and network, creating valuable contacts. Session
topics and discussions are planned and run by students on issues that
pertain to their experiences as teenagers and as charter high school
students. If your students are interested in leading a session, please
have them complete the "Call
for Discussion Leaders" and return the form no later than February
20, 2003. All students are encouraged to apply. A six-member planning
committee is also being formed. This committee will be responsible for
evaluating discussion leader applications, promoting the summit in their
area, as well as setup and cleanup the day of the event. Registration forms should be returned no later than March 15th, 2003.
CANEC's 2003 Charter School Student Summit is planned and organized by Aurora Charter High School senior Josh McFall. Please contact Josh with questions or to obtain additional information at (650) 868-0164 or via e-mail at CANEC2001@aol.com. |
